Dame Phyllis Frost Centre
Increased Demand Project

We were engaged to provide an expansion of accommodation and supporting infrastructure for the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre. The new accommodation for inmates was located within an expanded secure perimeter. The masterplanning of this project allowed for future expansion within the expanded site footprint, a development we were later responsible for.

The Increased Demand Project, completed in 2012, resulted in the design and construction of cellular accommodation with 48 beds as well as a separate programs building. Within three, residential self-catering style cottages were 36 additional beds for inmates on the site. In additional to the residential buildings that catered for inmates was the design and development of new external stores buildings, an expanded reception and property stores, as well as the addition of a refurbished and expanded kitchen and industries. The ‘Increased Demand Project’ completed at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre was the first of two developments on the site, the other being an ‘Expansion Project’ later completed in 2015.
